Brian is truly an exceptional bartender! Food was extremely good, especially the crab spaghetti. The bartender did warn me that it was a little bit spicy, but I don't mind that – it had a nice smoky kick to it! I also had the lobster mac and cheese. A bit too creamy for me, but you can tell that it's definitely prepared to someone's liking. There was nothing wrong with it, just wasn't my cup of tea.
This place is a must-try, especially for happy hour! The deals on seafood are amazing—think $1 oysters and shrimp that are super fresh. And seriously, don't skip the cocktails; they're delicious and perfectly mixed. Our bartender, Brian, was awesome. He was friendly, sharp, and made sure we never had to wait for a thing. The place definitely fills up and gets a great, busy vibe as the night goes on, so if you're not planning on just grabbing a seat at the bar, you'll want to book a table ahead of time. My one small complaint is that the two single-stall unisex bathrooms can create a bit of a wait, but it's a minor detail in an otherwise great night out.
Great ambience, amazing food options! My third time visiting Pearl and Mary and I’m still amazed about how rich and tasty their menu is. I would absolutely recommend and it’s now my go to place for oysters in the city-and I eat them a lot! Definitely a 10/10! I would be visiting again very soon!
This is amazing place with certain highlights which has quite higher value. Octopus - nothing crazy. The veggie side had red bell pepper in it that didnt bond well with octopus itself which could be a little thicker piece so that is can be cooked properly. Thin part was crispy, thick part was chewy. You can taste they have a fire in the kitchen, it could taste much better if it was seared. Crab dip - amazing, get one but take your time not to burn your mouth - I think waiters should always warn people when dish stays hot much longer. Oysters - indeed great, they were all well preserved, enough juiceness and opportunity to make a good combo of 2 if you order them in pair. I'd say they were 95% well cleaned and that one time with a tiny sand in your mouth was a great reminder of extreme spectrum of raw food experience. It was so good I ordered the same another combo to try again each with two combined sauces now. I had a gin based cocktail with sage in it. It was delicious, a good mix and ingredients were good as well. They dont use much measurement cups so the same cocktail can be always different and not a continuation of the same one you ordered so I advise you to order a different one. The hostess was amazing, she would actually make an eye contact with clients and not give fake speeches, she was real and descent. Overall the service is good. And it is Philly, a place where people will always talk to you and you share with them which oysters was your favorite. All this including tip was like $140 ish but I had 2 cocktails and 2 round over Oysters, so I think this is a reasonable price with service food and design. It's a lot to write, I'd write about design too but I'm getting tired.
After living in the city for years I finally tried this place out. Amazing dinner! All of the menu items we ordered were nearly perfect. Might be the best crab dip I’ve ever had. Using black rice for the crudo was a nice touch. The only time in my life I’ve ever had anything with horseradish in it and I didn’t hate it. Fish and chips were classic and cooked perfectly. Cocktails were delicious. Service was good. Totally go here!
We had a great experience here! Our server Sophia was absolutely sweet and thoughtful; she quickly moved us to a bigger table as soon as one opened up, even on a crazy busy Friday night. The food was fresh and delicious, and the prices felt fair. Oysters were very fresh, crab was decent, and the crab dip and chowder are highly recommended. The shrimp dumplings are also worth a try (though the dumpling skin was a bit on the thick side, which slightly affected the texture). Overall, definitely recommend this place! Just note: if you’re looking for a quiet dining experience, this might not be the best spot on a Friday or Saturday night, since it gets very busy.
We made reservations to have dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves. For starters I had the New England Clam Chowder and my girlfriend had the deviled eggs. We both enjoyed our appetizers. The chowder was very tasty and thick. The deviled eggs were delicious as well. For our entrees we had the steak frites and the scallops, both meals were cooked perfectly. We enjoyed our meal and will most likely go back to enjoy their raw bar.
Not really impressed with the seafood. Both the fish we order were dried and bland. The seafood tower is bland too. I preferred seafood broil restaurants because the flavoring is much better. We booked here due to Amex perks of Resy $100.00 credit. The atmosphere and drinks is good but definitely not for seafood. There are certainly better options in the area such as McCormick seafood. Dining area is small but I think they have a private area for larger party. If you enjoy seafood, this place will disappoint you.
